Inventive Titles - The 7.39

I like this title sequence however I do think it is a bit boring i would of liked to do a few more shots if i had more time. I like the first shot of the tube map and the shot of the metro on the floor at the bottom of the steps. I couldn't find the number 7 and 9 at the station but would of liked to look elsewhere if i had more time. Feedback i got from the crits included: good mix of stills and film, always take stills horizontally, sound is good, range of more shots, fits with the film well, looks like someone is late for a train not finding love on a train. I agree with all the feedback and will take it on board for my future projects.

Inventive Titles-A Perfect Getaway

For my final film i went to the beach and wrote the titles in the sand, i originally wanted the sea to wash up over the writing to make it disappear however i discovered the sand was too wet near to the sea so i could not write in it. some feedback i got from the crit were: creative idea, doest fit with the genre o the film, good mix of stills and filming, nice beach shots, good sound helps to show its a horror, could add more actors, some hard to read. I am pleased with this title sequence i think it fits fairly well with the genre and the music adds to this. If i was to do it again i would make it a stop motion so it looks as if i was writing it in the sand.

Ideas Generation

For some further research i looked at good title sequences such as se7en, psycho, catch me if you ca and monsters inc. I really like all of these some of them are quite simple (psycho) but very effective , others are complexed and have a lot going on (monsters inc) i would like to try out both themes for my films and see which one works best.

These are my two final storyboards for my film. For the perfect getaway i am going to go to the beach  and write the titles in the sand and let the sea wash over them to wipe them away. I think this will work well as the film is set on a desert island so the sea ad sand is a major part of the film. For the 7.39 TV drama i am going to film several shots of a train station, people, the tracks, the train, inside the train, the tube map and i am going to try and find the numbers around the station to include in the film.

Inventive Titles: Ideas Generation.

I have looked at many different fonts for research for this project. I also tried out some fonts of my own. I like the hand drawn fonts and i think i would like to use some of these in my opening titles, if it fits with the genre of film.

I looked at Tv dramas and thriller films and drew up a few storyboards of ideas, i decided to go with the thriller film, 'a perfect getaway' and the Tv drama 'the 7.39.' I think theses two films will be good films to make title sequences for as they have quite boring ones. Im not sure what I'm going to do yet but i will research and get feedback on ideas and develop my idea over the next week.
