For creative making week I was in a group with Connie, Jenai and Tomioloa, we decided to try and incorporate all of our FMPs into our project. We had: the butterfly effect, freedom, opposites and light. We eventually came up with a sentence 'What if the perception of your personality when revealed in a true light was left down to chance.' We used the list of materials we had and tried to come up with something interesting. We decided to use 4 plastic bottles covered in socks to represent 4 different characters and make an interactive game where you place the placards next to the bottle that matches the description.
Old...... but young at heart: boring grey stretched out sock. Inside filled with sweets and coloured paper to show still like ti have fun.
Young.........but worn out: fun sock on outside brightly coloured. Dark on the inside black drained paint.
Mentally Disabled......but full of life: Plain white sock on outside. lights in bottle, birds and butterflies to show they are bright.
Physically Disabled.........but daring and adventurous: Black sock, inside filled with marbles and dice to show adventurous.
I was very pleased with the end result, I think they have worked really well and are very visually interesting. The feedback from the crit was very positive: good idea, relates to everyones FMP, good for animation (characters,) well thoughtout, good use of materials, very visual, worked well as a team. We asked the group to place the placards where they thought they went, they got them correct apart from the old and mentally disabled were round the wrong way. The young seemed easy but the other 3 there was discussion as to which one went where.
